A growing coffee shop in Southern Indiana began roasting and selling their own specialty beans but needed to establish a stronger brand identity as they continued to expand. They offer premium coffee and specialty roasts with a higher price point than the other shops in the area, and wanted a sophisticated, yet approachable look with an emphasis on the family's name, Hos (short for Hostetler).
The Hos Collective brand identity is comprised of the coffee shops, roasting company, and bakery. In order to unify the three branches of the business (with room to expand), I placed emphasis on the Hos name with a bold, serif font for elegance and a premium feel. Additionally, a unique, hand-drawn vector illustration was created for each branch to help distinguish each sub-brand. A coffee bean trier and coffee arabica plant were selected for the roasting company signature illustration since both of these objects are crucial to the roasting process. A mug and portafilter were selected for the coffee shop illustration, and dough and roller for the bakery. Each illustration was hand-drawn and vectorized for scaleability. Hos Collective is continuing to thrive and expand with a mobile coffee shop coming in mid 2023.
